The Journey of Elmo at the Source of the Nile – Mistaken Identity
Elmo is a hippo that lives on the banks of Lake Victoria, near the source of the Nile at the town of Jinja. He has been bestowed with a greater understanding of human behaviour following a visit by the Earth Spirit and a period of captivity on Busaka island. During his time on Busaka island, Elmo befriends a fez-wearing chimpanzee named Charlie and his family, along with a white leopard called Cleopatra. Now they have escaped from the island, this group of animals must learn to adapt to their new surroundings and make peace with the humans that inhabit the area. Complications arise when a new uncompromising police commissioner arrives in Jinja, with his modern policing practices. He soon has a surprising suspect in his sights for a long-unsolved case.
This book is a companion story to the Adventures of Patricia the Hippo at the Source of the Nile.
